a three day trek to remote villages in Muang Khau, Laos

We were so lucky to meet Mr. Kamon our guide through Father our guest house host.  i was sure
Mr. Kamon worked for the CIA but turns out he was a monk for 14 years, then a science teacher and now a jungle guide that speaks at least 5 indigenous languages~ with him we visited several different  Kamu and Acha villages. some very remote spots that involved days of jungle bushwacking and  roaring river crossings.
the first village was really stricken with opium addiction. i was passing out my hand sanatizer for open wounds as if it was some magic potion. they had a major case of pink eye as well. we werej able to pick up some proper medicine for them and instruct them on how to use it...just a temporary solution...
the other tribes were in good shape healthy and excited to see us! i ate marmot for the first time and they killed a chicken for us...~i'm a vegetarian i think? at least  i did't drink the rice wine they offered! we did dance around a blazing fire to pumped up music. then some late night shamanistic flute playing. i was lucky to buy some old tools, some broken weaving tools and a knife... they couldn't understand why i would want these old things but then they also didnt understand why i would want to come a stay in their village....
