We covered the dang island north to south and made some boat building friends .

Another dirt road took us to the beach of jewelry designs and dilapidated gangplanks...ideas, projects, products hahaha brainstorming.... Oh but then the smell of burning wood -the sound of chainsaws and hammer and chisel.

We came across a boat yard ...these guys were rebuilding some amazing old ferries and longboats! There was very little verbal communication but a lot of thumbs up from both parties.

It was majestic yet, did not look so good for us ...

A little misunderstanding regarding the ferry price led to the stopping of the big boat in the middle of the Straits of Mallaca -where the crew proceeded to threaten to throw us over board.... Hmmmm seemed funny at the time but when we docked I started to get pissed!

how quickly the serenity gathered from a small friendly island can slip through your fingers ...when you decided to leave.

Portraits of the ferry crew and a map where you can see what would have been our " drop off point" ' between koh yao yai and krabi... pretty nice place for a swim- ha!

Flying Underroos!

Then we were bombarded by skinny kids in bright underwear... showing off by doing radical jumps from the pier.. This went on for at least an hour.. It seemed like they would never stop and I didn't really want them to...here's a couple after shots..
Soon Benjamin's will post his shots of the kids jumping - some knock out photos!

we did finally make it back to the main road and found a pink mansion of a place to crash ... And pick the bugs out of our teeth.

Koh yao yai is a beautiful place with with beautiful people

When we got off the ferry we rented a fast - brake challenged scooter - piled all our gear on and went in search of a cheap guest house ... hours later we found our selves just following this hellish dirt road to past a neon fabric overpass? to the very south most point of the island ending at a small pier and a Muslim fishing community . We were exhausted and so was the daylight . For sure we would be sleeping on the pier tonight!

Phuket we gotta get outta this place...

This is the largest island in thailand...is it even an island? Coming from the small Long Island of koh yai noi it was a shock we head to koh yao yai tmrw and hope to find some relief.
We did make it to Nang beach and stayed at a cool guest house cobbled together from drift wood.

. 2/16

We left the amazin little island of koh yao noi today after just getting to know its circumference and finding the great local food after 3 days we decided we - for some reason would go to phukett ...a taxi , long boat, taxi then a walk to find a place in our budget noi yang beach . The places got cheaper the further we walked.... Stopped at a bungalow - an older man on a larger than life drift wood couch wanted to rent us an ocean view bungalowfor1000. But since we need to stretch our budget we asked about somethinging for 500. His wife took us down this path and showed us a hole In a concrete fence - on the other side we found a 2storyfamily house all tree house drift wood built up... The lady went from 800 down to 500 so here we are... Now where's the beach?

The room is small with a fan but the multi level curusoe patios are great to hang out and type away on the ipad - sunset people cooking breeze motorbikes purring feels silly but reall.

The long boat ride is like a sleep machine all the passengers go knodding . The rocking the purring.

Sorry for the typos I'm a typo king and if I worried about it I prob wouldn't write anything...

Photos below
Some beach shots, our host drying fish on their satellite dish, yes more spirit houses as well- an old crumbly concrete one in a some what vacant lot and a fancy wood carved one in front of a swanky hotel
