The Gibbon Experience, Huay Xai, Laos

The Gibbon Experience is an amazing configuration of tree houses- high up in jungle and all connected by zip lines. We spent 3 days hiking and zipping through the jungle and across canyons. One scary beautiful view after the next. The tree house constructions are impressive to say the least. I can't describe this in words and my photos don't do the experience justice. Benjamin Maddox got some great video that he will post at some point .
The project started as a way to save the Gibbons ( a type if monkey) that were being poached. They convinced the poachers that it would be more lucrative to do Gibbon jungle tours than to hunt Gibbon.
Check out their site to get an idea of the complexity and beauty of it all.
